Gloucester Tall Ships 2019
Gloucester Tall Ships – Channell Events
Channell events manage multiple events throughout the UK, adding Gloucester Quays Victorian Christmas market to there events this year (2019). We have only traded at one other event with these guys and it was a Food & Drink Festival at Clumber Park.
The Tall Ships event happens every other year bringing in old tall ships, and has a range of entertainment for everyone they even had pirates sword fighting.
As well as food and drink stalls, they had loads of water sporting events such as:
Professional Wake boarding competition
Gravity jet suit displays
Pirate shows starring Jack Sparrow
The event was packed full of live music all day every day. There were actors wondering around as pirates and sea men which was a nice touch. You could pay to use flight simulators, giant water orbs and a surf simulator. They also use the main car park as a fun fair which was fairly big.
The best place for hot food was at the main stage on orchard square. It’s worth requesting this area.
Footfall was very good considering the £10 entry fee and we had a bit of rain on one day.
Service for the trader
Channel events provide very good service for the trader, great communication and hassle free. The only thing I would say is there weren’t enough public bins and also no recycling in place.
Hot food to go pitch price was ok, a bit more than you would normally pay for a good food festival. But the footfall was good enough to compensate this.
Build and break
Build and breakdown was well orchestrated and easy with very little disruption. Get in as early as possible on build day as it can get a bit tight for space.
Pitch fee: 6/10
Verdict: 4 stars
